Brora Distillery(7 May 2003)
スコットランドの北ハイランド地方には個性的な蒸留所が多く存在する、個人的にも好きな地域。その中でもお気に入りは Clynelish、そしてBrora。操業再開をかすかに期待してBrora蒸留所を訪れたのだが・・・二度と火は入らないだろうと確信するだけに終わった。それならば自分にできることは今ある姿を精一杯撮るしかない。空を見上げれば私の気持ちを察するかのような曇り空だった。
There are some unique distilleries in the north of Highland, Scotland. Malt whisky of Northern Highland is my favorite. Especially, I love Clynelish and Brora. I went to Brora Distillery with a little expectation of reopen. But I understood that it wouldn’t start making whisky again. Things I can do was nothing except taking photographs. Sky was so cloudy as if it was expressed a state of mind.
Brora Harbour(7 May 2003)
Broraは歴史ある港町。かつてはニシン漁と塩の生産で栄えた。現在はリゾート地として、また Samon Fishingで有名なRiver Broraとその先にあるLoch Broraで知名度は高い。海岸に沿って美しいゴルフコースもある。
2～3日滞在したかったが5日間でWickからInvernessまで行かなければいけない私には1泊が限界だった。バス停前にはおいしいアイスクリーム屋があるのだけど開店時間前のCity Linkに乗り込み、Tainへ向かった。
Brora has a long history as a port town. It developed as a herring port and salt producing district. Now, It’s really popular for Samon Fishing and Resort. And there is a good golf course on the shore.
I wanted to stay in Brora for two or three days, but I didn’t have enough time. I had to go around Northern Highland, from Wick to Inverness for 5 days, so I stayed only one day.
I wanted to eat excellent ice cream at the famous ice cream shop near bus stop, but I took a coach for Tain in the morning, before the ice cream shop opened.
